Service information
Connectivity
The DIX offers three ways of connecting to the neutral net:
- Switched 100Mbit Fast Ethernet - male RJ-45 connector
- Switched 1 Gbit Ethernet. The provider must supply an appropriate
GBIC suitable for a Cisco 6509 switch
- Switched 10 Gbit Ethernet. The provider must supply an appropriate
X2 suitable for a Cisco 6509 switch
Room
The equipment is situated in a room with controlled physical environment,
burglar alarms and monitoring of all accesses. Furthermore, the site offers
the operators 7 times 24 access in order to service their equipment.
Mailing lists
There are two mailing lists for the DIX members. One for administrative
personnel and one for technical personnel. Both lists are closed lists only
for the connected ISP's. Requests for subscribtion can be mailed to Ole.Kjargaard@uni-c.dk.
Only requests sent from one of the mail addresses listed on either http://dix.dk/administrativecontacts/
or http://dix.dk/technicalcontacts/
will be accepted.
Staff
The staff at UNI•C's NOC has many years of experience in Internet
technology, and their services can be requested on normal terms.
Prices 2010
The yearly fee is per calendar year, and will be invoiced with half in january
and the other half in july. The network covers all connection expenses.
The fee is subject to changes due to inflation. If a network is connected
anytime during the first six months of a year, then the full amount for
the entire calendar year is to be paid. If a network is connected anytime
during the last six months of the year, then half of the yearly fee is to
be paid the fist calendar year.
A connection at the DIX with 100 Mbit/s ethernet has a yearly fee of DKK 30.400 excl. VAT
A connection at the DIX with 1 Gbit/s Ethernet costs a yearly fee of DKK 43.500 excl. VAT
A connection at the DIX with 10 Gbit/s Ethernet costs a yearly fee of DKK 85.400 excl. VAT
This fee covers the connection to the DIX switch and the following service
elements
- Rack space needed for one router and possible modem
- Power including no-break protection
- One access card to be used outside normal business hours
If needed, an extra access card costs a yearly fee of DKK 5,000. If
a provider wishes to have two or more connections to the switch, a full fee
has to be paid for each connection according to the prices above.
Note regarding PO-numbers and other references on invoices
When sending out the yearly DIX invoice in august/december, we have by several
operators been asked to qoute a PO-number, or other reference, on the invoice.
If you require such on the yearly invoice, you may mail what ever reference
you like to be written on the invoice, to us. Such requests received before
december 1. can be hounered. We are not able to request PO-numbers or other
references before writing the invoices. Bouncing invoices back top us
due to missing PO-numbers, order references and the like, will not be
accepted, and the DIX connection may consequently be closed, if payment is not received in due time.
