How to join the DIX
Connection to the DIX is formalised through a connection
agreement between the interested network operator and UNI•C. The
network operator then establishes a physical network connection to the DIX.
Finally, traffic exchange is set up with other operators already present
at the DIX. This is done in a framework of bilateral peering
agreements. In this way, use of the DIX is regulated on two levels -
a standard agreement with UNI•C on connection to the DIX and a series
of bilateral agreements with other networks present at the DIX.
